mass effect 3 galactic readiness best ending

I haven't started ME3 yet either (I'm still playing ME2) but when I do, I don't see myself playing multi not only I have no interest in multiplayer games in general (and let's be honest, the ME saga has been a fantastic single player story from the beginning), I wouldn't be able to even if I wanted to rack some of those galactic readiness point things - because I play the ME games on Xbox 360 and don't have an Xbox Live Gold subscription (why would I? It costs money, and its main benefit -multiplayer gaming- is meaningless to me). Good as multiplayer may be, it really, really bums me that they made it influence the single-player campaign. (Which is all academic, since I'm 'stuck' in the middle of the Omega DLC, bored with the linear combat and distracted by too many other shinies to just slog through it.

I'm hoping that's the case, because in amongst all my other gaming, I'm replaying ME3 from the top with the Shepard from the end of my first playthrough (Game+ basically) now that I've got all the DLC, and I'd rather not do an afternoon of multiplayer this time around, simply because I've got too many other great games on my plate.

Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe with all the DLC, you can now get enough assets in single-player. These days, I'm not sure it's necessary to up your Readiness to get the 'best' endings anymore. If it hadn't felt like I 'had to' play it after otherwise scouring the galaxy to get all the War Assets I could, I'd probably have enjoyed the multiplayer more. I was bummed, but ultimately found I enjoyed the few hours of multiplayer I played to get my Readiness up to approximately 75%(? I don't remember exactly) right before I started the end game. When I played it when it first came out, I could not get the 'best' endings with the Galactic Readiness at 50%.
