Unfortunately, it’s not a BIG Mek. Now the model could totally stand in for an Ork Big Mek and have a Kustom Force Field – but that’s not what the description is on the web page. Strangely enough this Ork Mek Model was the only other model we could find currently available from Games Workshop that was 1) An Ork 2) A Mek 3) Not wielding a Shokk Attack Gun 4) Not in Mega Armour. Ghazghkull Thraka 14 PL, 300pts Warboss 4 PL, 90pts: Attack Squig, Brutal but Kunnin, Da Killa Klaw, Kombi-Rokkit, Power Klaw, Warlord + Troops + Boyz 11 PL, 250pts: 3x Tankbusta Bombs. He’s also cheaper in Power Level so that is a bit of a trade-off. Big Mek W/ Kustom Force Field 4 PL, 80pts: Grot Oiler. Also, it doesn’t appear to be on when he’s in a transport unlike before. The Kustom Force Field, however, is different.

The other version of the Big Mek in the Codex doesn’t have this particular option as it’s just the Shokk Attack version. This version is a re-introduction from the Index version where it doesn’t have Mega Armour. “ Hey, can’t the Big Mek already take that?” No – that’s the Big Mek in Mega Armour. This is the Big Mek with Kustom Force Field. What’s really odd is there isn’t a model for this one…yet. It looks like Games Workshop is re-adding an old favorite back into the mix for Ork Players.
